CHANGE IS INEVITABLE WHERE IT'S DUE
SERERE-Wonders of governance
SERERE-Wonders of governance
Time counts and people are always awake to tell what time it is...the same way many natives and masses in Serere district are following critically every evolvement in the political and leadership footsteps, be it for a change or betterment of what they are terming as surface leadership in many district sectors as most Sererians are failing to recognize the validity of their representation and advocacy.
There seems not to be a doubt that many believe that change is inevitable where it's due, a stance that is now at the cross roads as many natives are worried and unprotective of what may happen tomorrow, a move that has left minorities in pain and their rights abused at the lake sides of Kagwara, Olain, Kagwara and many other fishing and landing sites.
Tension is mounting in areas like Kyere along the water banks where there is anticipated land takeaway and now undergoing forced or voluntary land surveying with hope to secure customary and privately acquired land as hearsays go round and round about Apujan and Omagoro rocks... more details still loading.
Furthermore is the alarming insecurities and acts of injustices that have left innocent souls buried.
How ever according to the available statistics on public domains, Its reported that since January 2024, over 18 murder cases have been
recorded in Serere District, with a majority of them being women with the
recent being Jane Atai, 50, and Sabiti Akol, 45 of Okokoma village in Bugondo
Sub County.
Natives and masses are whispering days and nights of why Serere? Why now? and as to why they are not on the know? as the current leaders still hold the mandate to account and enlighten residents on real time societal issues, government interventions and policy changes to that effect, this is still looked at as a gap.
As the saying goes, 'what goes around comes
around' there is much believe that as leaders come and go, hope should be put
to end unsupportive leadership of the common man's life long realizations
of a better life, poor representation,
discrimination and nepotism, a move that many voices are yelling against by
some leaders and one of the causes of need for a protest vote for the
betterment of the whole community in an equitable manner.
The cry is loud and seems to be progressing against
leaders that are not pro-people, inclusive and recognize the importance of the
electorate. The concern has not left the district technical and security teams
un torched ‘there is a question of
unethical conduct upon some public figures right from Local Council 1 who have
become reluctant to addressing common and unbecoming societal challenge’ as
individuals are sorbing
